Published SI.com

It has been a while since I've seen any of my work used, so I was excited to see it show up on SI.com today...still waiting for the print version of Sports Illustrated to use one of my pictures.

Michigan v Illinois Mens Basketball

Another big day for the Wolverines. A poorly played game by both teams, but Michigan was able to put on a push at the end of the game and Illinois couldn't answer. Former Fab Fiver, Jalen Rose, was honored at halftime for his charitable work with the University and communities. Lots of jockeying for space on the shooting end, but I ended up with some nice shots.

Master Your Craft Seminar

Just got back from the Master Your Craft seminar in Chicago. What a great experience. Mike Colon and Bob Davis are truly inspirational when it comes to wedding photography and business. Bob's demonstration on using portable Canon flash units to light a room or shoot portraits has definitely brought a new tool into my box of tricks. Mike is not only funny, but a great speaker and an expert at marketing yourself to achieve whatever your goal is with your "craft" (this being photography). Can't wait to try out some of my newly learned information.

"Live" Cheerleading/Dance Competition 2_16_08

Spent the day on Saturday doing some freelance work for Lightspeed Photography from Louisville. The "Live" cheerleading and dance competition was held at Cobo Hall and is a long day shooting very young (4-5 year old) cheerleaders all the way up to college aged cheer teams. The kids really enjoy it. You can check out some of the photos here... http://www.orderthephotos.com/LIVEindex.asp

Michigan v Penn State Mens Basketball 2_9_08

Finally a win for the Wolverines. It was nice to see John Beline smile for once. Stuck with a shooting position close to the basket for much of the game, so it makes shooting a little tougher with the overhead light placement at Crisler. Manny Harris had another great game.
